Stocking Fillers
One of the great moments in a child’s life is waking up on Christmas Morning and realising that Santa has been their house. The empty sock they had hopefully hung off the end of the bed on Christmas Eve is now full of strange shaped presents – otherwise known as stocking fillers. One of the exciting things about stocking fillers (for most children in the UK) is that they know that the gifts contained in the stocking are only the start of the Christmas present extravaganza.
The History of Christmas Stocking Fillers
Legend has it that the first Christmas stocking fillers were given to 3 sisters by St Nicholas who took pity on the girls when he heard that their father had squandered their dowry money leaving them unable to get married. St Nicholas dropped the gifts down the chimney and they were caught by stockings hung out by the girls to dry by the fire. We hope you like Trusty Toys’ selection of Christmas stocking fillers!
